Rare Earth Hardwood Inc. can provide you with all the moldings necessary to complete your flooring job. Stocking the lumber for all the flooring we provide, at our mill in Traverse City, allows us to offer moldings, nosings and stair parts in the same species as the floor you purchase. While we stock most of the moldings in the more popular species, many more will be manufactured at time of order due to the large variety of species and size options available. To ensure that you have all the components necessary when installing the floor, it is always best to order moldings and accessories along with the flooring. The following outlines are representative of standard flooring moldings.
Stair treads, risers and hand rails are all available from Rare Earth Hardwoods. And, as is the case with all accessories, they can be ordered to match any of the flooring we manufacture. Treads can be ordered with routered or mitered returns for exposed stairways. You can also order curved starter treads from REH. Got a unique application or design in mind? Send us a drawing; we’re always glad to quote your creative requirements.
Rare Earth Hardwoods is now offering stair treads in an engineered construction. Treads can be manufactured to match any of our floor offerings on a custom basis. This means you can have a stable product even in species that have been normally difficult to work with such as Australian Cypress.
Treads are manufactured to the length you need with a 5.5mm wear surface bonded to Baltic Birch plywood. Engineered treads are manufactured with the straight grain camouflaging the glue line between the surface layer and the bull nosing. Miter returns are available on one or both ends of the tread. Curved starter treads are also available and can be shipped with the necessary cove and shoe molding.
REH can bring the same customization to treads and risers that we provide with our engineered flooring. That means you can purchase treads and risers with a combination of species or inlays for the wear surface.
Don’t forget to order nosing, molding and hand rails to complete the project.
